Corsham based energy reduction specialists SMARTech are celebrating a highly successful first six months in business, succeeding in their mission to reduce energy consumption in commercial businesses across Wiltshire.
The company set up by business owner Stuart Pearce, has been working with local clients to identify where, when and how companies are wasting energy. Once established they create strategic energy plans, focusing on eliminating waste usually targeting savings of between 30 to 50%.
The firm have recently worked with Chippenham based Fascia Graphics, a manufacturer of membrane keypads and switches, graphic overlays, screen-printed labels and nameplates. SMARTech’s recommendations for Fascia Graphics had an immediate impact on their energy usage. Following a SMARTech energy review, wastage was identified and an energy plan was developed. The plan was then split in to two stages with a total targeted saving in excess of 50%. Stage one included a new LED lighting system which is installed alongside voltage optimisation, motor optimisation and air conditioning energy saving solutions.
Ernie Griffin of Fascia Graphics commented, “We have recognised for some time that we could improve our energy efficiency but have struggled to find the right partner. Meeting Stuart from SMARTech energy was a complete breath of fresh air, his knowledge and experience shone through. We are delighted to be working with SMARTech energy and are starting to benefit from their hard work.“
One of the benefits SMARTech energy customers benefit from is the implementation of energy monitoring equipment across a client’s site, enabling them to capture and analyse energy usage in real-time.
This process assists in identifying and quantifying the energy savings as part of their methodology, giving peace of mind to their clients plus delivering an open and honest approach to energy management.
SMARTech have also been working with Old Mill Accountants based in Melksham. Old Mill have recently moved to new offices in the town and approached the firm to review their energy usage in the new building. Their review resulted in recommendations to install new LED lighting with occupancy sensors plus new emergency lighting and a new energy efficient air conditioning system to ensure their staff have comfortable working conditions. This energy plan will enable them to be energy efficient and maintain lower energy bills.
In 2015 SMARTech want to focus their efforts on assisting companies in Wiltshire. Stuart is passionate about working locally and to help this growth has employed two full-time employees, plus an additional two part-time members of the team. He is also looking to recruit a full time project manager and electrician. The future for energy efficient companies in Wiltshire looks very bright.
