It’s ready, steady ho, ho, ho for this year’s Santa Run at Lydiard Park.
Entries are now open for the popular 5K event, organised by the Rotary Club of Swindon Phoenix, which will be held on Sunday, December 2 in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance (75%) and the Rotary Club Fund (25%).
Participants can run, jog or walk, and pushchairs and dogs are welcome too. Last year, 500 people took part and there are just as many spaces available this year.
Darren Crannis, President Nominee of the Rotary Club of Swindon Phoenix, said: “It’s always great fun and all the family are welcome. It’s fantastic to see 500 Santas running through Lydiard Park. It raises lots of money for a great cause and really gets everyone in the Christmas spirit.”
Santas can collect their hats, suits and race numbers between 9.30am and 10.30am from the registration point before joining in with the popular Zumba warm-up at 10.45am. The race will begin at 11am.
Participants must register in advance at www.swindonsanta.org.uk/registration. Entry fees range from free for under-fours to £15 for adults. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
The Rotary Club of Swindon Phoenix fund supports many local charities including Swindon Down’s Syndrome, The Open Door Centre, and the Guide Dogs Association.
