Shortlist confirmed for the South West Business & Community Awards

By Nick Batten on 28 April, 2021

The shortlist for this year’s South West Business & Community Awards has been announced ahead of the virtual ceremony which will take place on Thursday (29th April.)

The standard of entrants this year was so high that a record number of candidates were shortlisted across the categories. The awards recognise a wide cross section of entrepreneurs and innovators, highlighting those blazing a trail in their respective industries.

They are judged by an independent panel of some of the UK’s most significant business leaders, entrepreneurs, charity ambassadors and regional influencers.

Anita Jaynes, Director of the Business Exchange and one of the judges, said, “I was blown away by the quality of the entries this year. It was an incredibly tough job to even get to a shortlist, let alone select winners. The Covid pandemic has thrown so many additional challenges for us all to navigate, and the resilience of our community is both inspiring and humbling. All of the entrants should be so proud of their achievements and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on awards night.”

Alec Jones-Hall, Director of South West Business and Community Awards added, “We are proud and excited to be celebrating outstanding achievement across the region and rewarding those who are making a huge impact throughout the South West. It is also a time for the business community to come together, not only to celebrate the accomplishments of those shortlisted and the deserving winners of each category, but also to mark the fact that we all continue to play a vital role in the success of our region and that its future achievements will be built on the foundations we lay today.”

Allison Murray Design is one of The Cotswold Challenge team, which has been shortlisted for three categories including the ‘new start up of the year.” Allison commented, “We are thrilled to have our important initiative recognised. When we started this challenge for young students last year during the first lockdown, none of us expected it to be so successful. We were overwhelmed at the time to receive over 500 entries.”
