Recruitment day at Warminster Community Hospital aims to bring new health workers to west Wiltshire

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting nurses, therapists and healthcare assistants from across Wiltshire to attend an upcoming recruitment day at Warminster Community Hospital.

Taking place on Friday November 6 between 2pm and 7pm, the recruitment day is open to all nurses, whether experienced or newly qualified, as well as healthcare assistants, interested in joining the friendly team on Longleat Ward at Warminster Community Hospital.

The Trust is also keen to hear from community nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists who would enjoy providing high quality care outside of a hospital setting as part of a Community Team, which operates in and out of patients’ own homes across the county.

Those coming along on the day will have the chance to meet the Longleat Ward team, have a tour of the Warminster Hospital, before taking part in an interview for one of the exciting positions available.

Colette Priscott, Deputy Director of Human Resources, said: “The way patients are treated in the community is changing and there is now a greater emphasis on giving people the care they need in their own home.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for any health worker who would like to take on a new challenge and ply their skills outside of a traditional hospital setting. Of course, we still need staff on our wards and Warminster is a great alternative to the large acute hospitals in nearby Swindon, Bath and Salisbury.

“Since 2013, we have invested more than £1 million in a recruitment drive to bring more permanent members of staff to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, our community hospitals across Wiltshire and the teams that care for patients at home.

“We now have around 170 more nurses, midwives and health visitors caring for our patients than we did this time last year and we hope that recruitment events like this one in Warminster will enable us to add to that total figure.”

Those interested in more flexible working arrangements are also encouraged to attend as there are positions available for registered nurses, podiatrists and therapists within the Bank, the Trust’s internal staffing agency.
