Prospect Hospice has gained a welcome boost to its funds with the news that it’s Make a Will Month initiative in November 2015 has raised close to £14,000 to support the charity’s care for patients and families.
The initiative enlists the help of local solicitors firms who, through the generosity of one or more of their solicitors, will waive the usual fee for the cost of a will in exchange for a donation to the hospice. Since the scheme was first introduced in 2009-10 it has raised almost £87,000 for the Wroughton-based charity. In November, the participating solicitors were from Withy King LLP, Jeary & Lewis LLP, Bower and Bailey Solicitors and Andrews Martin Solicitors & Notary Public.
“Make a Will Month has been very valuable to us since we first introduced it, and provides a great opportunity for people to focus on the things that are likely to matter most to them after they die,” explains Melanie Dicker from Prospect Hospice’s fundraising team. “We are very appreciative of the generous support given to us by the solicitors who take part in our Make a Will Month.”
Details of the solicitors taking part in this year’s Make a Will Month will be posted on www.prospect-hospice.net later this year.
