Outsource UK Limited appoints non-executive chairman

Outsource UK Limited has appointed Charles Hughes as non-executive chairman. Charles brings with him over 40 years of experience in the IT industry, having held senior positions at ICL and in HM Government.  He was chairman of the European Computer Research Centre and has been a board member of IT companies in Australia, Germany, USA and Great Britain as well as being President of the British Computer Society, the Chartered Institute for IT.  He has had a close relationship with Outsource for over a decade.

Professionalism in IT is an area Charles is passionate about, having founded and been appointed as the first Chairman of the International Professional Practice Partnership, IP3.

In 2009/2010, Charles became Master of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and received the Company’s Royal Charter.  He is also a Freeman of the City of London.

Other accolades he has received include the Influencers Roundtable Award; presented by Bill Gates, in 2009 and also in 2009 he received an Outstanding Service Award from the International Federation for Information Processing.  He is a member of PICTFOR, the Parliamentary ICT Forum, and of the Chartered Management Institute.
