Outsource UK attains REC Audited Status with flying colours

By Anita Jaynes on 24 January, 2014

Outsource UK has attained the coveted status of Audited agency with the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and is the first agency ever to achieve 100% in phase one of the assessment.  Outsource now joins one of only 67 agencies, in the UK to have received the industry’s seal of approval.  Less than 2% of REC’s 3700 members have achieved Audited status.

The agency was assessed against the requirements of the Employment Agencies Act, the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 and the REC’s Code of Professional Practice.  This audit scheme run by the REC, the professional body for the UK’s £25 billion private recruitment industry, is the most comprehensive of its kind. It provides successful recruiters with an accreditation that is recognised by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), confirming that the agency is conducting its business both ethically and in accordance with the above requirements.

Commenting on achieving REC Audited status, Vicky Roythorne, Outsource’s Compliance Manager said: “We’re delighted to have achieved this award and with such great marks.  It was really important for us to renew our Audit certification as part of our commitment to high compliance standards, particularly as the REC have re-launched this quality mark and made it more comprehensive. We’re very proud that we are one of the few IT and technical recruiters to have achieved both ISO and the REC Audit.  We believe it is important in providing the best possible service to both candidates and clients that agencies have both these quality standards in place.”

Outsource UK achieved ISO9001 status in October 2013, and are believed to be one of just a few IT and engineering recruitment agencies in the UK to have both REC and ISO standards.

REC chief executive, Kevin Green added:   “Congratulations to Outsource for achieving REC Audited status.  In doing so they join an elite group of recruitment agencies across the UK that has achieved this high standard.

“This accreditation recognises that we have rigorously audited Outsource and found that it is performing to the highest professional standards and represents best practice in our sector.”
