The Old Town Business Association (OTBA) is inviting residents and businesses to visit its newly launched ‘This is Old Town’ website, which aims to offer quick and easy access to “essential” information about Old Town.
The initial phase of the website has been funded by OTBA committee member and local business owner Alex Pollock, managing director of social media agency www.SocMedSup.com.
Alex said: “I offered to get the ball rolling by covering all the costs of the initial launch to gain momentum and stimulate investment to develop the online presence for the area. I’m thrilled we’re now in a position to launch.”
Richard Deacon, chairman of the OTBA, added: “We’re absolutely delighted to bring this website to life, after months of hard work from everyone involved. It’s a key element in raising the profile of Old Town and attracting even more people to enjoy the many businesses and amenities on offer.
“My thanks go to Alex, his team, and those members of the OTBA Committee who have put the time and effort in to get us into this fantastic position.”
As the site matures and with ongoing investment, OTBA claims that the plan is to include a business directory listing, offer advertising which can also generate revenue for further OTBA local activities, and become a portal for relevant communications.
‘This Is Old Town’ was formally launched at the Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday 25 April, at a ‘Cheese + Wine Networking Evening’ hosted by the OTBA and Swindon Rotary Club.
