The annual South West Business and Community Awards will return on Thursday 24th January to celebrate the region’s most ambitious, inspirational and exciting businesses, charities and individuals.
The awards recognise a wide cross section of entrepreneurs and innovators, highlighting those blazing a trail in their respective industries.
The Business Exchange’s Editor, Anita Jaynes, will once again join the judging panel to help assess all finalists and decide the worthy winners in each category.
Alec Jones-hall, Director of the South West Business and Community Awards, said, “We are proud and excited to be celebrating outstanding achievement across the region and rewarding those who are making a huge impact. It is a time for the business community to come together, not only to celebrate the accomplishments of those shortlisted and the deserving winners of each category, but also to mark the fact that we all continue to play a vital role in the success of our region.”
Corsham-based SMARTech energy and its Founder and MD, Stuart Pearce, are amongst the finalists this year, nominated under the categories of Business of the Year and Male Entrepreneur of the Year.
Stuart Pearce, Managing Director, said, “I’m incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for these awards and delighted by how much SMARTech energy has grown over the past four years. Being endorsed by awards and industry accreditations reinforces the recognition of SMARTech energy’s skills and services and further validates the company’s commitment to its customers and future business growth.”
Sara Tye, founder and managing director of redheadPR, has been shortlisted for both the Female Entrepreneur of the Year and Lifetime of Achievement awards.
She said, “It’s been an incredible journey and it’s wonderful to be recognised. Being shortlisted for the Lifetime of Achievement award is hugely humbling. It’s come as redheadPR celebrates 15 years in business. I have worked relentlessly for the past 30 years and it’s been tough; from fighting to keep my business going through the 2008 crash, to moving back to Swindon from London. I’m truly amazed to be shortlisted for both these amazing awards.”
Fiona Scott, owner of Fiona Scott Media Consultancy, has been shortlisted for the Female Entrepreneur of the Year award. She said, “I’m really humbled to be nominated in the first place, let alone shortlisted alongside a group of other fabulous women in business. In 2018, I celebrated a decade of having my own business and I’m proud of that achievement. To get this nomination at the end of such a wonderful year is the icing on the cake for me – to coin a cliche. I’m deeply proud to be part of the South West business community and wish to congratulate everyone who was nominated or shortlisted across every category.”
Sponsors for this year’s awards include Aspen Waite, Excalibur, C & D Group, The Business Exchange, Basepoint Swindon, Jelf Insurance, Henry Howard Finance, SWLEP higher Futures, Latcham Direct, and Great British Expos.
The ceremony will be at The Double Tree Hilton, in Swindon, on Thursday 24th January.
