Swindon’s specialist recruitment agency, Outsource UK has announced that Nick Dettmar will be succeeding Paul Jameson as chief executive from 1 January 2018.
Nick’s promotion comes after working as chief operating officer at Outsource UK for three years. From January, he will take over as CEO, with a handover period which became effective earlier this month.
His appointment follows over 21 years in the industry, with him working in recruitment since graduating from University. Nick started his career at Adecco, where he spent 14 years and was managing director for ‘professional staffing’ when he left. He then joined the Impellam Group in 2010, where he spent five years as divisional managing director of their Science, Engineering and Technical brands before joining Outsource UK.
The announcement comes following Paul’s decision to “take a step back” from frontline duties. The move will enable Paul to “spend more of his time on the firm’s strategy, to ensure the business is ready for forthcoming industry challenges.” He will remain in the business, but move to founder, acting as a mentor to Nick.
Paul explained: “The industry is changing and we need to be ready for what’s ahead – in terms of people trends, compliance and legislation. It’s, therefore, time for me to step back and concentrate on helping the business achieve its strategy, and I will be more able to do this by moving to a founder role.”
He added: “Nick has been a brilliant COO and accomplished a lot in the time he has been with us. Having worked closely with him for the last three years, I believe he is the best person to lead the company into its next chapter.”
Nick said: “Outsource UK is growing and I intend to continue that trend – having recently opened new offices in London and Birmingham we have aggressive hiring plans across our UK network of offices to fuel that growth. I am looking forward to developing our talent’s expertise and expanding the specialist areas we work in.”
