Wiltshire’s Niche Recruitment is marking its 9th year in business with continued growth across the board.

Having successfully weathered the storms of Brexit, the pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, the agency is continuing to thrive, adding to its team, expanding its offices and adding new services to support its loyal and growing client base.

Niche Recruitment was established in 2015 by seasoned recruiters Michelle Graham and Nick Wimshurst who had worked together in recruitment since 2004. Having both worked within national and local recruitment firms, the pair saw an opportunity to build their own agency based on the core values of relationships, understanding, quality, integrity, passion and innovation.

Since opening, the agency has gone from strength to strength, placing over 1,300 candidates in roles with reputable businesses.

Starting with just Nick and Michelle and now boasting a team of nine, Niche Recruitment has recently completed a project to double its footprint at Callow Park in Brinkworth to accommodate more members of staff.

The newest team member, Chloe Smith, has joined Niche as a Resourcer to support with the increasing demand for sourcing temporary and permanent staff across the region.

With a larger team and new office space, Niche has also seized the opportunity to offer more to its client base, with the introduction of Niche Flex which offers recruitment solutions to suit every budget, by the hour.

Rather than offering the traditional full recruitment service, Niche Flex allows clients to choose the services they need, including consultancy, creation of job descriptions, CV screening, video interviews and salary benchmarking.

Commenting on the growth of the business, Michelle said, “Our success is largely down to the ‘Niche approach’. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and always take the time to really understand our clients’ business objectives and standards. We ask the right questions to ensure we can provide the very best service in the industry.

“We’re very proud of our business and our values. We work hard to provide a premium service for our clients but we also make sure we value our own staff and provide them with an environment reflective of a modern, progressive recruitment agency.”

Nick added, “We’ve got to where we are by having our finger continuously on the pulse. We recognise industry trends and are intuitive to the needs of our clients across all sectors, allowing us to be responsive, adaptable and ahead of the curve when it comes to placing the right candidates in the right roles.

“We are helping to change perceptions of the recruitment industry and what we can genuinely do. Many clients see us as a trusted advisor and we have built a reputation for being a valuable extension to their businesses.”

The Niche approach has helped the agency to retain long-term clients including Whittard of Chelsea, St James’s Place, BCS – The Chartered Institute for IT, and online pet store Zooplus.

Luke Jay, Managing Director of Home Front Outdoor Play, says that the Niche approach has changed his perceptions of the recruitment industry.

He said, “My perception of recruitment agencies previously was less than favourable. My impression was they didn’t really care about the placements and just had an interest in churning sales.

“However, I worked with Niche to recruit for one position and they genuinely blew me away. They were completely different to what I thought the industry was. The numbers speak for themselves – we’ve increased our headcount from four to 13, all with Niche’s help.

“The thing that sets them apart is their ability and interest to intricately understand us as a business, not only in terms of structure, but also culture. It means a great deal to have an external agency take the time to understand us.”
