New workspace opens in Chippenham to meet rising demand for hybrid working

A new state-of-the-art 10,783 sq ft flexible workspace, operated by Regus (IWG), is opening in Methuen Park, Chippenham, as the need for hybrid working rapidly accelerates.

Unprecedented demand from companies and workers looking for hybrid working solutions means IWG is aiming to add 1,000 new locations over the next year, primarily in rural and suburban locations like Chippenham. The Methuen Park location will be the first IWG location in the Wiltshire town. Hybrid working offers companies a significantly lower cost base with an average saving of £8,000 per employee.

The new Regus location, opening in January 2023, will include private offices, state-of-the-art meeting rooms, co-working and creative spaces and is just 25 miles from Bristol.

Situated in Methuen Park, this site is part of a new drive by IWG to meet the sharply rising demand for top-class flexible working space in the area, while also being easily commutable in just over an hour by train to London. The popularity of rural and suburban flexible workspaces has continued to rise throughout the year by 30%, demonstrating the importance of workers having a ‘third-base’, away from their homes or traditional central offices.

The building features super-fast WiFi, its own fully-stocked kitchen and will allow businesses to work alongside big names in logistics, engineering and other key industries in this well-established business park.

IWG is the world’s leading provider of flexible workspace – with 3,500 locations in 120 countries with members able to access all of the locations and business services via the IWG app. The company is adding a further 1,000 locations over the next year and already counts 83 per cent of Fortune 500 companies among its customer base.

Mark Dixon, Chief Executive Officer & Founder of IWG, said, “We are establishing a stronger and much-needed footprint in Chippenham with this latest opening. Near the idyllic Cotswolds, this location is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans, particularly for those who no longer want to waste valuable time on commuting. The need for high-quality flexible workspaces continues to soar as hybrid working becomes the new normal.

“Our opening in Chippenham comes at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible working boosts employee happiness and satisfaction, while helping the environment. Our workplace model is also proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs.”
