Wiltshire marketers Helen and Richard Forsyth, founders of Corsham-based Find Marketing have launched a new website to support independent food and drink businesses during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Find Tasty helps customers easily search for local shops which remain open for business during the crisis. The service encourages independent shops and sellers to list their addresses and website links on the site for free. Customers can then search by location, food or drink, or special dietary needs. Users can also look for essential household goods like toilet roll and cleaning fluids, as well as pet food.
The site is designed to make life easy for consumers and boost trade for local businesses struggling under the current conditions. The only alternative is for customers to trawl the internet to see which shops are still open for business and this is time consuming and not exact. Many businesses might be missed in a search due to not being ranked well by search engines or not having a web presence at all.
Helen Forsyth, said, “Like everyone else, we found ourselves trying to cope as a family, working, schooling and being under each other’s feet at home. It’s such a scary situation that we wanted to do something positive. Going to a supermarket now feels intimidating and there are so many people heading for the same major stores, whilst smaller shops that remain open may be less visible. We have seen that many shops are innovating their businesses brilliantly to keep going for customers. We want to support those businesses, so we have made it free for them to join Find Tasty. For shoppers, if you are stuck at home, knowing you’re going to have to replenish your cupboards, we want you to have options and know there are a lot of shops out there which can help you in your local area.”
