Budding entrepreneur Samantha Whittingham, 28, has made her first hire for her rapidly expanding web-based business offering branded cakes, cookies and cupcakes to companies across the South West.
The young businesswoman created Corporate Cakery, based in Swindon, in March 2016. Previously she had spent her early twenties supplying cakes to families and domestic customers.
As business has grown Samantha has recently welcomed Leigh Hancock, 46, to Corporate Cakery. Leigh, a mum of eleven-year-old twin boys, lives in Blunsdon.
She said: “When I met Samantha what first struck me about the company was her passionate focus on her ethical stance in using environmentally friendly products. I was also impressed Corporate Cakery sources products from local businesses.
“Every day I go to work smiling because I’m off to make cakes! Baking is such a magical process. Using the Corporate Cakery formula, we create delicious beautiful gifts using only the highest quality ingredients.
“I’m excited about what will happen with the bakery. Samantha is dedicated to growing her business and ensuring we provide customers with what they want.”
Samantha said: “Having Leigh as part of the team is a dream come true – she’s a very talented cake maker, has picked up my methods and recipes really well, but most importantly Leigh is so enthusiastic and cares about helping to make Corporate Cakery a huge success.”
Corporate Cakery has an easy-to-use online ordering system and the company can post cupcakes and cookies nationwide. Samantha has also recently launched a subscription service for companies. Products are baked to order and can cater for any quantity and for most dietary needs, including gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, vegan and low sugar products.
