Monahans appoints new rural manager

Monahans has strengthened its impressive rural and landed estates team with the appointment of Karen Cooper as rural manager.

Karen, who joins Monahans from Morley and Co and previously RSM, will assist in managing the accounting and tax affairs of the firm’s rural, agricultural and land-based clients.

The Monahans rural and landed estates team has an enviable reputation in the region for excellent advice and tax planning in the specialist areas that affect those with rural businesses, including land and asset value, livestock and the changing landscape of the agricultural sector.

Karen said: “My experience at both large and small firms had given me a good grounding of general practice and I was looking for an opportunity to specialise in rural business.

“Given the size of the firm and their reputation, Monahans was the right opportunity for me.  Being part of a bigger team is great and having started at the busiest time of the year for the firm has meant that I’ve been able to get to grips with the different needs and clients in the rural and landed estates team.”

The Swindon team has also recently welcomed Lindsay Wilkins as HR advisor.
