Springboardthe children’s charity based at the King’s Centre in Chippenham – has expanded its service and updated its branding with the help of local design agency ‘Milk & Tweed.’

Until recently, the King’s Centre in Chippenham was also occupied by The Rise Trust children centre and Portage but the Rise Trust has now relocated.

This has allowed Springboard to expand its service, meaning it can now offer more children more support with two playrooms  available to them daily. Additionally, Springboard wanted to update its brand and Chippenham-based design agency ‘Milk & Tweed’ stepped forward to help, providing its services for free.

Springboard was founded in 1976 and over the last 43 years has become an essential service to pre-school aged children with special needs in the area. It is an independent charity working in partnership with Wiltshire Council and the NHS.

Jane Boulton, Springboard’s Manager, said, “We are delighted to now be in a position to be delivering more opportunities to the young children and families we support. Having two playrooms allows us to offer an additional eight places per day, increasing our provision by 75%. From September we will be opening our doors to 54 families.

“Children with identified developmental needs such as Autism, Downs Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy all have communication difficulties and our work helps children and their families to overcome some of the challenges”

Jane continued, “This new start is an opportunity for all of us involved to make a positive difference for more families. We welcome any support from the local communities, individuals or businesses that want to be involved in building a future for Springboard”.

Jake Jeffries, the Creative Director at Milk & Tweed, said that creating a new brand and visual identity for Springboard was “an amazing feeling.”

He added, “The work and support they provide these children and families with is just incredible. The whole project from the kids, to the staff, all struck a heartfelt chord with us, so we just wanted to help in any way we could.”

Milk and Tweed was recently recognised by CV Magazine by winning ‘Best Design Agency’ in Wiltshire 2019, and by Bristol Media as being one of the best design studios in the South West.
