Medical software company finds new West Swindon base

Software company Avebury Computing, which is the UK’s second biggest provider of computer systems to private medical practices, relocated to Basepoint Business Centre a few months ago, creating the opportunity for two local jobs over the next 12 months and bringing business to Swindon-based suppliers.

Commenting on the software, called MidexPro, general manager Gary Parker said: “The system is accountancy based with clinical additions, and we describe it as thinking like a doctor not a computer.”

Avebury Computing’s client base is split between London’s Harley Street and the rest of the UK, with CircleBath Hospital one of its biggest and most recent implementations.

Explaining the plan for the next year Gary said: “A new version of the software that is compatible with Mac platforms will be released in 2015, by which time we’ll be looking to take on another member of staff to expand into supplying the hardware too.”
