Make the ‘Great Escape’ at the Business Show Swindon

By Anita Jaynes on 6 March, 2015

Following last year’s really positive feedback, The Business Show Swindon returns for its fifth consecutive year on Thursday 23 April 2015 at STEAM museum. Business West is once again bringing the leading business exhibition to Swindon to put the spotlight on local businesses, promote business growth and support local networking.

This year’s inspirational keynote speaker, Monty Halls is expected to be a sell-out. Made famous due to his much acclaimed BBC2 Great Escape series, the intrepid expedition leader has been leading teams in some of the most demanding environments on earth for over twenty years. Drawing from these experiences he will reveal how individuals and groups perform under stress, how to adapt to rapidly changing environments, and how to maintain focus when all about you are losing theirs.

Using incredible film footage and images from world class photographers and cameramen, he tells the story (and reveals the findings) of two decades of observing the human animal under stress. A must for any leader coping with the day to day demands of running a business in the modern environment.

A popular addition to the show this year will be a drop in area for one-to-one business advice, which gives businesses the opportunity to share any issues or concerns with an experienced business adviser who can also explain about any available grants or subsidies.

New for this year, in keeping with the enormous interest in all things digital, the show will feature a Click and Connect Zone, which will provide a place where visitors can talk to digital experts, relax, network, blog, tweet, hold informal meetings and even charge their devices, all over a refreshing complimentary drink.

The ever popular free speed networking sessions return for this year’s show with five sessions throughout the day.  This fun, fast-paced way of networking guarantees that you meet 99% of participating delegates, so is an ideal way to increase your network of business contacts. Two sessions are already sold out so make sure to book your place.

The show will also feature a range of seminars on topics such as attracting talent, digital marketing and more.

Ian Larrard, Director of the Swindon & Wiltshire Initiative at Business West said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have Monty Halls on board for this year’s show; he will be an invaluable asset to this already much anticipated annual event in Swindon’s business calendar and is a talk not to be missed! The show creates great opportunities for local businesses, as well as providing important insights and ideas on how to achieve and sustain growth in 2015 and beyond. “

This year the show will include over 90 exhibitors and stands are selling fast, with organisations taking the opportunity to showcase their business to a new audience and network with their fellow local businesses. Stand prices start from only £200 + VAT and Business West Chamber of Commerce and Initiative members also receive a third off.

The show, easily accessible from the M4 and Swindon railway station, will run from 9am to 4pm.
