It’s the sixth day of our Love Local Warminster campaign and today we’re putting the spotlight on the Athenaeum Centre.
Situated at 18-20 High Street, the Athenaeum is a fine grade II listed building in the heart of the town. The Athenæum has a long and colourful history of use from a literary institution, to a cinema and now a vibrant centre for the community. It plays host to a diverse range of community groups, classes and activities within its many rooms. The Centre is held in Trust by and for the people of Warminster and is operated by a dedicated team of volunteers.
Due to Covid restrictions the Athenaeum Centre is currently closed, but we encourage the Wiltshire community to support it as soon as its doors can open again. It’s a beautiful building and it hosts some fantastic productions. It also has rooms for hire, including the auditorium.
