With Lockdown 3.0 upon us, The Business Exchange is
asking for your insights regarding coping strategies, new habits and how to
stay positive throughout this third (and hopefully final) national lockdown.
Gabriela Slater, owner of Nu Reflexology in Marlborough, gives her thoughts on reading, cooking, warm holidays and ditching the dreaded PPE.
How are you keeping positive through Lockdown 3.0?
As a small business it is extremely difficult to keep positive
during Lockdown 3. I have moved part of my business online, offering virtual
Facial Reflexology sessions and Zone Facelifts.
How are you structuring your day? Have you changed your
My habits have definitely changed as I have more time
during the day. I can concentrate on things I enjoy like walking the dog, cooking
nice meals and reading more books.
Are you doing anything new?
I enjoy running but never had enough time for it; now I
am up to running 10k once a week! I am also creating my first online programme
– Healthy Hormones Kitchen – Perimenopause. Testing all the new recipes and
taking photos of them is great fun!
Have you changed your New Year resolutions?
My New Year resolutions have definitely changed. I have
not set many goals for this year, as it is really unpredictable. I love to travel and always plan ahead, but
instead I am staying put and discovering more of the beautiful countryside in
Have you introduced any new rituals?
Yes, more sleep, reading books! I am so lucky to be a
member of a book club; we have read so many great books over the last nine
months. I also try to drink more water and have Epsom Salts baths.
What are you most looking forward to when restrictions
I am looking forward to seeing my clients without the PPE
and strict Covid-19 procedures. Also going away somewhere warm on holiday!
What is your biggest goal this year?
The biggest goal for this year is to stay healthy, look
after my body and mind. I came to the conclusion that if I am not well
(mentally and physically) I am not able to look after my family and my clients.
What has the past nine months taught you and how has it
shaped your future for the better?
The past nine months taught me to slow down, listen and appreciate
what I already have and be grateful for it.
