With Lockdown 3.0
upon us, The Business Exchange is asking for your insights regarding coping
strategies, new habits and how to stay positive throughout this third (and
hopefully final) national lockdown.
Lucinda Lloyd is Head of Operations and Clinical
Support at medico-legal
firm Jane James & Associates
in Chippenham. She gives her insights on too much TV, reading books and making
the most of family time.
How are you
keeping positive through Lockdown 3.0?
I am keeping positive by thinking of how lucky we are in relation
to where we live. We also have a business that has not massively been affected
by Covid-19, and due to this hopefully being the last major lockdown there
appears to be light at the end of the tunnel.
How are you
structuring your day? Have you changed your habits?
Since the start of Covid-19 we have predominantly worked from home
and therefore this has continued. With the children being home-schooled, I must
work when I can, so afternoons, evenings, and weekends are currently the key
times I get my work done.
Are you doing
I have tried to read more. When we are not out and about in the
fresh air, we are a family who does enjoy sitting and relaxing in front of the
TV. There have been times during the past year when I have felt “TV ’d out”, I
have therefore read a few books and I hope to be able to keep this up.
Have you changed
your New Year resolutions?
I’m not a big believer in resolutions.
introduced any new rituals?
Not necessarily a
ritual, but I remember to remind ourselves to enjoy the time we have with the
children being at home and not think of it as a complete nightmare! We will not
get this time back, and yes it has been tough at times to have us all at home
for so long, but we have made it through.
What are you most
looking forward to when restrictions are lifted?
Seeing friends, family and exploring more of the UK with the kids.
What is your
biggest goal this year?
To continue to work on making the business as efficient as possible
and to take a holiday!
What has the past
year taught you and how has it shaped your future for the better?
That we have a robust and resilient business and that we can adapt
well to change. It has also made me think more about our carbon footprint as a
business and in my personal life.
