With Lockdown 3.0 upon us, The Business Exchange is
asking for your insights regarding coping strategies, new habits and how to
stay positive throughout this third (and hopefully final) national lockdown.
Elle Chappell, Director of South West recruitment agency Form Talent reflects on inspiration,
motivation and relaxation.
How are you keeping positive through Lockdown 3.0?
My positivity is coming from a few places – believing the
end is in sight is one of them!
I’m a big fan of self-care and always have been. A hot
bath, a glass of something red and an Italian can easily take up an hour; it’s
important to be still and ‘just be’ sometimes.
What has the past nine months taught you?
Last year taught me, more than ever, to not worry over
things I cannot control and to put effort into everything that I can.
I think 2020 has taught us that we lived life too fast
and we don’t really need to.
Are you doing anything new?
Nothing new, just more of what I love. Watching and
listening to positive, educational things is a big thing for me.
We’ve recently watched ‘Chasing the Sun’, the story of
the Springboks and their incredible journey to the World Cup victory. It’s a
very powerful documentary of resilience, culture and team performance – highly
I’ve recently discovered Blinkist too which gives you
short, snappy sections of books such as Thinking Fast and Slow. I’ve started
listening to these after my runs for 15 minutes to get a hit of information, motivation
or different ways of thinking.
What are you most looking forward to when restrictions
What I’m most looking forward to after lockdown is dinner
parties with friends, although my liver is enjoying not seeing them! Also
seeing my mum and dad, and a weekend away somewhere.
