Local health company wins license to supply artery screening system

Wiltshire-based health screening specialist HealthWatchersUK has been chosen as one of only a handful of suppliers of a preventative artery screening programme.

USCOM, based in Australia, is known for promoting health screening programmes down under. Its vision is to help people identify health issues before they become a problem. These include possible future problems around the heart, blood pressure and weak arteries.

It’s patented several products from as far back as 1998 including the Ultimate Central BP Arterial Stiffness Machine. This machine, which can only be used by trained practitioners, measures the blood pressure in the arm (brachial blood pressure) and at the heart (central blood pressure) in a single step.

HealthwatchersUK based in Malmesbury, has been awarded the contract to sell the machines to health practitioners across the UK. It’s the only company licensed to sell to the complementary and sports markets.

Elaine Godley, founder and MD of HealthwatchersUK, said: “We’re really excited and proud to be appointed and trusted by USCOM to introduce the concept of these low cost, quick, non-invasive and accurate artery health checks to clients in the UK.

“We’re now building a network of licenced trained practitioners who wish to add this service to their toolkit for helping people minimise the risk of heart attacks and strokes.”

HealthwatchersUK promotes the concept of individuals taking control of their own health and wellbeing by trying to prevent disease and illness.

The new screening device is available to integrative GPs, chiropractors, osteopaths, naturopaths, homeopaths, sports therapists, personal trainers, health and wellness consultants who all help people to live a healthier life.
