Catalent Pharma Solutions, the leading global provider of advanced delivery technologies and development solutions for drugs, biologics and consumer health products,  hosted a visit from local dignitaries including Robert Buckland, Member of Parliament for Swindon South, at its Swindon site, which employs more than 600 people. He was accompanied by Phil Eyles, Account Manager, UKTI, Michael Ash, Head of Housing, and Clive Parkinson, Director of Business Support, both of Swindon Borough Council.

Located on Frankland Road in Blagrove, Catalent’s 14,500 m² facility houses its Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation, as well as pharmaceutical development and analytical laboratories, which were completed in 2011. Zydis is a unique, freeze-dried oral dosage form that disperses in the mouth, requiring no water. In some cases this can enhance the performance of the drug and can also contribute towards better patient compliance.

“Catalent is a great example of a world leading technology business choosing to locate one of its key European and global operations in Swindon,” commented Robert Buckland. “The company is a significant employer in the area. I have been impressed with the groundbreaking products and technologies that are supplied by the Swindon workforce for better treatments around the world.”

“We aim to be the employer of choice here in Swindon and globally at all of our facilities, which are located across 5 continents,” added Steve Leonard, Catalent’s Senior Vice President of Operations. “We are committed to the future of the Swindon site and its workforce and thank our esteemed guests for their genuine interest and enthusiasm towards our philosophy of bringing more customer products to market faster, enhancing product performance and ensuring reliable clinical and commercial product supply.”
