Catalent Pharma Solutions, the leading global provider of advanced delivery technologies and development solutions for drugs, biologics, consumer health and animal health products, has announced that employees at its Swindon facility have raised over £10,800 through a number of fundraising endeavours which will benefit three charities, CALM, a local charity for child leukaemia patients, Prospect Hospice, and Alzheimer’s UK. Further to previous donations earlier in the year, a presentation ceremony was held at the Blagrove site for the charities to receive the donations and be introduced to some of the Catalent fundraisers.

The team in Swindon organised a wide range of fundraising events throughout 2015, which were supported by many members of staff at the site. These included a night trek up Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, a quiz night, a 10 km cross-country run, and a sponsored bicycle ride.

“Being able to give back to the local community, where so many of our employees are based has been very rewarding, and we thank the company for matching the sums we have raised over the last twelve months to make the total well over ten thousand pounds,” said Graham Prictor, Catalent’s Sports, Social and Charity lead at Swindon.

Catalent’s facility in Blagrove, Swindon, is the global hub for the company’s Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation, and also undertakes a number of other activities including pharmaceutical testing for many UK and international pharmaceutical companies. The site employs over 550 people, and manufactures 1.2 billion individual doses of important medicines for patients around the world each year.
