One of Wiltshire’s top small businesses, John Williams Heating Services, has once again stepped up to as the main sponsor the Chippenham Beer & Cider Festival next weekend (March 31 and April 1).
“We are so delighted to be the main sponsors for the festival again this year,” said Debbie Williams, joint owner of John Williams Heating Services, based on the Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate.
“Sponsoring is really about doing good in the community and the Beer and Cider Festival is an event which brings the entire Chippenham community together in a really fun way. It raises the town’s profile by attracting people from far and wide, and it’s a great opportunity for the town’s businesses to network too.”
John Williams Heating Services is sponsoring the event for the second year. Their support funds the glasses which are, unsurprisingly, vital to the tasting sessions.
In 2016, about 2,000 people passed through the doors of Chippenham’s riverside Olympiad Leisure Centre enjoying 7,500 pints of 90 different beers and 30 different ciders, plus great food and live music.
The festival enables enthusiasts to sample a large range of craft beers which have skyrocketed in popularity recently. Many restaurants, including those with Michelin stars, are offering to match beers instead of wine with their dishes – harking back to medieval times when everyone drank beer at every meal.
Debbie said: “On arrival everyone is presented with a programme where they can rate the brands they taste, as well as a beer glass to take home. The glass shows third and half pint measures, so it’s possible to moderate your tastings.”
Anyone interested in the event can get tickets online or in person from The 3 Crowns, 18 The Causeway, Chippenham SN15 3DB. Availability on the door for Saturday sessions cannot be guaranteed. The sessions take place on Friday March 31 6pm-11pm and Saturday April 1, 11am-4pm & 7pm-11pm. Tickets are £10 per session which includes £5 worth of tokens for CAMRA members & £3 for non CAMRA members.
