As part of its commitment to improving the world through engineering, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers has announced the launch of its inaugural Wessex Region Engineering Excellence Awards. The awards will celebrate the best engineering talent from across the region, from SMEs to large multinationals.
The award categories are: Outstanding Product of the Year, Outstanding Project of the Year and Wessex Region Manufacturer of the Year. In addition, the Institution will also be awarding three individuals with Outstanding Achievement awards. Companies from across Bournemouth, Dorchester and Weymouth, Portsmouth & the Isle of Wight, Salisbury and Southampton are encouraged to complete the straightforward application form by emailing WessexAwards@imeche.org by 30 July.
Nick Schulkins, Chair of the Wessex region,said: “The Wessex region is full of hardworking, dynamic and innovative engineers, and these awards have been created to give them the chance to have their stories heard. With each of the winners receiving a profile piece in Professional Engineers Magazine, it’s a real opportunity to showcase the region’s engineering excellence.
“We’re looking for engineering companies of all shapes and sizes and in all industrial sectors to apply. So, if you have an innovative product, are working on an exciting project or think you know the best manufacturer in Wessex, make sure you put in a nomination today!”
Sponsored by Trant Engineering, the black tie event will be held at Winchester Guildhall on the 9 October 2015 and will feature guest speakers including television personality Tiff Needell and Institution President Prof Richard Folkson.
