How business coaching can benefit you

By Anita Jaynes on 26 February, 2019

Nigel Scott is one of the directors from ActionCOACH bringing the South West Business Growth Summit to Bath this Friday (01/03/2019). We met with Nigel to find out who he’s working with and how coaching can benefit your business.

Many firms do not factor business coaching into their annual expenditure, especially trades people, such as electricians, carpenters, builders and plumbers.

So, would it surprise you to know that trades are exactly the type of businesses that business coaching can make a really tangible difference to?

Trades are generally stand-alone businesses. They depend on the owner being on the tools, doing all the quotes, raising all the invoices and ordering all the supplies. Their business that looked like it was set to give them freedom and financial reward, can often turn out to be a job with longer hours on worse pay.

I have recently been working with a local carpenter and builder and have really made a difference. The owner said: “13 months later, we have had our largest turnover to date with solid profit margins. We are set to turn over a definite £3m of signed contracts and our profit margins are on course to double also.

“I am now a business man who is growing and scaling my business. With his help, we have changed and adapted everything from the way we train and introduce new team members to tracking our numbers on every project, so we know week by week how our business is performing.

“Anything is possible, I am now confident we have built up to a scalable and successful building firm that is now giving us the opportunities to push further and into new avenues.”

What can we learn from this? There are simple steps that apply to EVERY business, particularly if you are turning over around £1m and want to scale it up, to employ more people, get consistent leads, free up your time and make more profit.

ActionCOACHES Nigel Scott and Peter Rolliston will be sharing these steps at The South West Business Growth Summit at Bath Racecourse this Friday 1st March 2019. To find out more and to get your ticket visit:
