Swindon’s new Home Bargains store on Great Western Way officially opens on Saturday 26th August.

The company has invested approximately £4.5 million into its new store, which will eventually create 110 new jobs within the local community. In total 130 people will be employed including 20 members of staff and management, who will be transferring from other local stores.

To mark the new store opening, Home Bargains has also donated £2,000 to local charity Swindon Food Collective, which provides food support to those who have very little or no provisions.

A spokesperson from Swindon Food Collective said, “The donation from Home Bargains is very appreciated and will go towards enabling the Swindon Food Collective to meet the ever-increasing demand for food for those people who are facing a crisis at this time. With this support, we will rise to this challenge and work positively to help as many people as we can.”

The new 40,042 sq ft store is one of over 575 Home Bargains outlets across the UK.

Store Manager Yulia Garbatiuk said, “We are looking forward to opening one of the biggest Home Bargains units in the company here in Swindon. We can’t wait to show the people of Swindon our new store with a café, bakery and garden centre.

“We are excited to say that we have managed to build a new team of 130 colleagues providing important jobs in the community at a difficult time.”
