Rugby fans John and Debbie Williams are backing young rugby player Dan Keat by sponsoring him through Chippenham Rugby Club.

The founders of John Williams Heating Services, based on the Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate in Chippenham, are providing financial backing for the young prop.

John said: “Debbie and I are huge rugby fans and we believe in supporting grass roots rugby. Dan is a hugely promising player and we enjoy watching him play and encouraging him to progress in his sporting career.”

Dan, who’s 21, and lives in Sutton Benger, is currently studying for a BSc in Sports Performance at the University of Bath, having previously attended Hardenhuish School, Chippenham.

He said: “At u18s I gained my first international cap for England Clubs and Schools in a win against Ireland. Since then I have gone on to play for Bath University’s 1st XV and in the last year have represented Bath Rugby United a number of times in their Aviva A-League campaign. I’m now looking at earning a contract at a professional or semi-professional club.”
