Haines Watts – A year in review

By Anita Jaynes on 16 December, 2019

A message from Mike Lloyd, Managing Partner of Haines Watts Swindon.

As 2019 draws to a close, and business owners look forward to the new year with positivity and hope, we would like to reflect on our last 12 months.

Some highlights for us this year have included the growth of our business, not only in Swindon and Wiltshire but also nationally across the Haines Watts group. We announced we are now a £96m turnover over company and across the South West we’ve achieved 20 per cent growth. Another accolade during the year was for Haines Watts to be named Accountancy Firm of the Year in the national FD’s Excellence Awards.

With our Haines Watts colleagues in Bristol, Devon and Cornwall we plan to work more closely together in a spirit of collaboration and support so we can continue to grow together.

In Wiltshire we became a strategic partner with business organisation Inspire which has been fantastic. We also expanded our charitable and not-for-profit work including being appointed auditor for Wiltshire Air Ambulance as just one example.

Throughout the year we have highlighted the importance of mental health through a number of Haines Watts campaigns such as ‘work life balance’, ‘let go and grow’ and ‘motivation’. We also supported the Mental Wealth campaign by the Swindon Advertiser and BBC Wiltshire, which also saw the wider Haines Watts group offer their support too.

Whilst most people will be hoping for a white Christmas, we will be planning our RED January in support of the mental health charity Mind. This initiative encourages people to be more active than usual, as it’s proven that physical exercise helps improve mental health.

There will be Haines Watts ‘Red Fridays’ consisting of lots of fun activities to help keep our team exercising and to raise a little money too. We’re planning quizzes, walks and bake sales.

We will also be collecting items throughout December and January for our local Mind shop, so please feel free to drop in with donations to support this worthy cause. Our address is:
