GWP Protective, the UK’s premier manufacturer of bespoke protective cases, has promoted sales manager Richard Coombes to the position of general manager at the firm’s Salisbury site.

Richard, 34, has been employed at the firm’s South Wiltshire base for ten years. He began with the company as a factory operator, but soon moved up into a middle management role before taking responsibility for sales.

Richard, who lives in Salisbury with his wife and two children, said he is relishing the opportunities that this latest role offers.

“We’ve spent some time implementing some new procedures, and now I’m really pleased about being given the challenge of driving our success forward,” said Richard.

“We’ve been delivering ten per cent above budget for the past couple of years, and it’s very exciting to be part of the next phase of GWP Protective’s achievements.”

Ian Heskins, Business Development Director of GWP, welcomed Richard’s appointment. “GWP have always encouraged and rewarded talent and commitment,” said Ian.

“Richard is one of our new generation of enthusiastic, skilled and forward thinking business managers who are helping us keep GWP at the forefront of the protective packaging and protective industry”
