Bristol Airport is preparing for a busy Summer holiday getaway with over 1.5 million passengers planning to travel between now and Sunday 3rd September.
Swindon and Wiltshire residents are being reminded to plan their journeys and to leave in plenty of time. The August Bank Holiday is expected to be the busiest period, with up to 37,000 customers flying.
The first six months of the year have been busy for the Airport as a business, with several new airlines joining its roster. Aegean Airlines, Sun Express, and Corendon Airlines now fly out of Bristol, and in March the highly-anticipated Bristol to Cork service with Aer Lingus returned.
To ensure a smooth travel experience, Bristol Airport recommends passengers plan and prepare in advance.
When arriving at the airport, it’s advisable to check in online and see if the airline offers Twilight check-in, which provides free car parking in the short stay car park. At security, having the boarding card ready, removing laptop computers and other large electrical devices, placing liquids in separate bags, emptying pockets into the provided trays, and taking off jackets or coats and placing them in the tray provided can make the process easier.
In light of the busy travel period, passengers are reminded to arrive at the terminal with plenty of time before their flight departure to complete check-in, bag drop, security checks and boarding procedures.
For specific check-in opening times, it is recommended to verify directly with the airline.
