Wiltshire based law firm Goughs Solicitors recently held its 6th annual Charity golf day at Cumberwell Park Golf Club, Bradford on Avon in support of the Devizes Opportunity Centre.

The day was attended by 120 guests from the Wiltshire business community and raised £7,500 for the charity, which is based in Devizes.

Devizes Opportunity Centre is a Specialist Early Years Centre committed to promoting the overall development and life chances of young children who have disabilities, learning difficulties and complex health conditions.

The charity provides a comprehensive package of individually targeted early years education and therapeutic care for each child together with emotional support, guidance and information for their families.

After 18 holes of golf the day concluded with a celebration dinner, presentation of prizes and the eagerly anticipated charity auction. The auction, expertly run by auctioneer, Stuart Collar-Brown from Strakers, contained many incredible lots thanks to the generosity of local businesses who dug deep into their pockets in aid of the Devizes Opportunity Centre.

Martin Lang, Senior Partner at Goughs Solicitors said:“Our annual charity golf day goes from strength to strength, with this year’s event the most successful fundraiser yet.”

“We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by everyone involved. The money raised will ensure that this extremely worthwhile charity can continue to provide the best possible therapeutic, early intervention and learning support for the children.”
