Wiltshire based law firm Goughs Solicitors is celebrating having raised £1,500 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance by fielding a team of runners in the Corsham 10k. Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a registered charity and provides an essential helicopter emergency medical service throughout the county and beyond.
This was the first year Goughs Solicitors has competed in the Corsham 10k and there was a great turnout. Over twenty members of the Goughs team picked up their trainers and took part in the race.
Phil Bolton, Solicitor who helped organise the Goughs contingent for the race commented “It was really encouraging to see such a great response by my fellow runners at Goughs. We are all aware of the life saving work that the Wiltshire Air Ambulance undertakes day and night and are proud to announce that they are our charity partner of the year”.
The Air Ambulance is a unique charity whose sole aim is to save the lives of people living, working and travelling in Wiltshire. From January 2015, it will cost £2.5m a year to keep the air ambulance operational.
For over 20 years, the air ambulance has been involved in more than 18,000 missions involving medical emergencies and accidents, ranging from serious sports injuries to multiple vehicle collisions. The charity does not receive government funding and relies entirely on the generous support of the local community and businesses to keep the life-saving helicopter and its crew flying.
Martin Lang, Senior Partner in the Firm’s Corsham office commented, “What a fantastic race. It was great to see so many people running and raising money for so many good causes. The £1,500 we have raised for Wiltshire Air Ambulance today is just the tip of the iceberg. We are participating in a number of events throughout this year in an effort to raise thousands of pounds for this extremely worthwhile charity”.
Goughs would also like to thank Springfield Leisure Centre in Corsham for supporting the runners throughout their training.
