Getting to know Bradford on Avon with OJO Solutions

By Anita Jaynes on 18 September, 2020

Digital transformation specialists, OJO Solutions have been this week’s sponsor of our Bradford on Avon #LoveLocalWilts campaign. As it draws to a close, we talked to the team to find out why they are so passionate about the town they call their business home.

What do you love most about Bradford on Avon?

For many years we have been able to walk out of the office and choose what kind of surroundings we would like to spend some down time exploring. Bradford on Avon has such a rich heritage and a magical feel with its historic buildings and stunning countryside all around the vibrant town. It has the two rivers of Avon and Frome running through it, as well as the functioning Kennet and Avon Canal. What delights to be able to choose from!

The people really bring it to life, from the locals who live and work here year-round, to the bustling summer months when many visitors come to see why this is such a place of attraction.

What are your favourite haunts?

Team OJO regularly enjoy walking along the canal to the Tithe Barn, to look around the shops and grab coffee and lovely homemade cake. We often pop into town for fish and chips at Station Plaice, or for a nice deli lunch from Granny Mo’s. When the weather is good, sitting by the canal at The Lock Inn café, Timbrells Yard or the Canal Tavern is a treat.

The market is a great asset to the town and we love to see what the stall holders bring each Thursday. And of course, Christine’s Sustainable Supermarket which transformed week after week during lockdown and has now expanded to offer refills and an online shop.

Do you have something specific that you buy when you visit each place?

It mostly centres around good food, great coffee, local drinks – and the odd gift needed for someone’s birthday!

Are there any social or networking groups that you take part in and would recommend?

Check out the new Spotted in BOA Facebook page which talks about all things happening locally, from artists and their work, to tradesman and their services and local events taking place.

BoA Business network is also a great organisation to check out to connect with businesses in the town and so is Link with a Latte.

To keep up with other town news visit the Bradford on Avon Town Council website.

Why is it so important for OJO to love local?

When you live and work in a community it is so important to support the things around you, which make the area what it is. Every business has something to offer, from local products and great services to the buildings, gardens, countryside all of which need to be enjoyed yet looked after so the next generation can be part of a vibrant town in BoA.
