Forrester Sylvester Mackett Solicitors have announced that they will be supporting Dorothy House Hospice Care as their Charity of the Year for 2016.
After a firm wide poll, Dorothy House came out on top and will be supported throughout 2016 by FSM who have offices in Chippenham, Malmesbury, Swindon, Trowbridge and Warminster. 2016 is also the charity’s 40th year and staff at the firm are keen to get involved in fundraising with cake sales already being planned at each office to celebrate #DottyDay on Monday February 29 and dress down days to take place once a month.
To kick-start the firm’s fundraising activities, Nick Guinness and Jeff Williams, both partners at the Trowbridge office, will be taking part in the Bath Men’s Walk on Saturday February 27. Now in its fourth year the event is an 8 mile walk which starts from the hospice in Winsley and finishes at the home of Bath Rugby – The Recreation Ground where participants will enjoy a free ‘pie and pint’ and the Six Nations clash between England and Ireland will be shown on the big screen in the Clubhouse and the Savills Stand.
Henrietta Bread, Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser at Dorothy House Hospice Care said: “I am absolutely delighted that FSM have chosen us as their Charity of the Year. It is perfect timing as Dorothy House Hospice Care is celebrating its 40th birthday in 2016. We are an independent charity and all our services are available free of charge to support people with life-limiting illness, their family and carers. For every £1 we receive from the NHS, we have to raise a further £4 so the support of FSM is extremely welcome.”
