Forward Swindon the company set up to deliver and facilitate economic growth and regeneration for Swindon has appointed a new interim CEO.
Deborah Heenan will join the team on Monday 3 November. She brings with her specialist knowledge and skills in housing, development and urban policy in both the public and private sectors. Deborah has most recently been leading the local authority’s Wichelstowe development project.
Forward Swindon’s Board and shareholder Swindon Borough Council have agreed that while a process to recruit the permanent position is underway, it is important for the Company to be supported with an experienced head to oversee the current delivery plan.
This appointment follows the news earlier this month that the current CEO Ian Piper has resigned. Ian has been offered a senior role at the Homes and Communities Agency working on the national priority to make more public land available for housing.
