First units at new Wiltshire business park given green light

The owners of the new £50 million Hawke Ridge Business Park have confirmed that phase two of the scheme will begin next year.

The announcement from Bath-Based commercial property company HPH Ltd was made after planning consent was given to the site’s first four business units.

A detailed planning application for the business units was submitted to Wiltshire Council over the summer. The units vary in size from 7,500sq ft to 36,000 sq ft. with a total area of 67,500 sq ft.

The application was made in response to rising local market demand and will enable fast delivery of units in an area with a dwindling supply.

HPH has already invested more than £2 million in the scheme. First Phase ground works, which were completed in September, included a new roundabout, access roads and signage. The company has also spent money on landscaping and new bus stops.

Eventually the 35-acre scheme near Westbury will be home to 500,000 sq.ft. of commercial space and could support approximately 1,000 jobs.

Chris Wordsworth, Development Director at HPH Ltd, said the recent detailed planning consent signalled the start of Phase Two of the project.

“We have been very busy behind the scenes in recent months with many conversations taking place with prospective occupiers. With its strategic location, ultra-fast broadband, and modern and efficient buildings, Hawke Ridge Business Park is a very desirable prospect for a company looking to improve and future proof its operations.

“This planning consent from Wiltshire Council puts Hawke Ridge Business Park in an even stronger position for attracting high-quality employers, offering an immediate solution to their business needs.

“At Hawke Ridge we also offer build to suit opportunities. With 35-acres there is a lot of scope for companies looking for flexible premises, and we’re excited to see what our new occupiers will do.

“We look forward to announcing the first occupiers of Hawke Ridge Business Park.”
