First meeting for social enterprise network

By Gill Harris on 10 January, 2019

The new Swindon Social Enterprise Network (SSEN) will hold its first networking meeting later this month.

The SSEN is a community voluntary interest group which launched in November last year. It brings together a diverse group of people and organisations with the aim of supporting social enterprise initiatives in the town.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 30 at the Link Centre from 4.30pm, when there will be a chance to meet other attendees over refreshments. An outline of SSEN’s plans for 2019 will then be delivered by a member of the steering group.

Shirley Ludford, chief executive of community radio station Swindon 105.5, will introduce a four-minute film, produced by Create Studios, about the station’s community work.

Shahina Johnson, artistic director of Create Studios, will then talk about Create’s journey as a successful Swindon social enterprise.

The event will finish with a further opportunity to network and talk to Shirley, Shahina and members of the SSEN steering group, closing at 6.15pm.
