One of Wiltshire’s leading heating and plumbing companies, Chippenham-based John Williams Heating Services, is sponsoring the town’s Christmas Festival Event which takes place on Saturday November 24 .
“Supporting our local community is of prime importance to us,” said Debbie Williams who with her husband, John, co-founded John Williams Heating Services, a family run business, in 2004.
“By sponsoring Chippenham’s Winter Wonderland Festival, which promises to be not only the biggest but best Christmas fun event Chippenham has seen, we are playing our part in ensuring residents have a great opportunity to enter into the festive spirit,” Debbie said.
The Winter Wonderland Festival runs from 1pm until 8pm, with activities throughout the town centre from Hathaway Retail Park all the way to Market Place.
There will be a chance to meet Cinderella in her pumpkin carriage, Santa’s Grotto and the terrible Grinch will be at Emery Gate Shopping Centre (3-7pm) and Glitter and Glo Face Painting will available (1-5pm).
There will also be a free Snow Globe experience at Hathaway Retail Park (1-8pm) and a festive artisan and food market along the High Street and Market Place from 10am-8pm.
If all the excitement and fun becomes too much, for both children and parents, Waterstones are holding storytelling sessions (2pm, 3pm, and 4pm) and community carols will be sung at St Andrew’s Church (4-5pm).
The main stage in the Market Place will go live from 5.30pm. A programme of local acts will lead up to the appearance of the classic Chippenham abseiling Santa before Lifford Shillingford, a golden buzzer star of Britain’s Got Talent 2018), officially turns on the Christmas lights. Weather permitting, the Big Switch On will be followed by a firework display.
“Chippenham Connected in partnership with Chippenham Town Council have worked very hard to pull together some fantastic attractions which will deliver free entertainment for everyone,” Debbie said.
