Experienced engineer joins Wiltshire’s Business of the Year

Heating engineer Ben Lagden has joined the growing team at John Williams Heating Services Ltd.

Ben, who’s 40, trained to be a heating and plumbing engineer in his late 20s after becoming disillusioned with a job in the retail sector. Since re-training he’s worked for large corporates before making the decision to work with a smaller dynamic company.

He said: “In the early days, I trained with my brother and it was great to work in a small team where the service is more personal and more responsive to a customer’s needs. It’s not easy to find a company which offers that kind of service so I was thrilled to be offered a job here.”

John Williams Heating Services, which is based on the Bumpers Farm Industrial Estate in Chippenham, won the award for Best Small Business and Business of the Year 2014 in the Enterprising Wiltshire awards earlier this year.

Founders John and Debbie Williams employ 14 staff who pride themselves on offering excellent customer service. Ben, their new recruit, lives with his wife Caroline in Hilperton and the couple are expecting their first child early next year.
