First City Group, who employ almost 500 staff for its nursing and training services, has joined forces with fellow Swindon business Excalibur Communications by appointing the firm as its new IT and mobile partner.
The appointment follows the successful new communications infrastructure that Excalibur recently introduced for Home Instead Senior Care Swindon & Vale of the White Horse, a growing provider of high quality, reliable, relationship-based services that allow older people to remain living independently in their own homes with assistance from their team of CAREGivers.
The new Managed Service Agreement with First City Group includes Excalibur’s recently launched Managed Print Services (MPS), which monitors and tracks all printing, removing the risk of sensitive information (typical of First City’s work) being compromised.
The firm previously worked with 30 suppliers causing headaches over responsibility and billing, especially during system failures, as First City’s operations director, Stephen Trowbridge explained: “We could not carry on with out of date technology and systems that didn’t collaborate – not to mention the admin nightmare that comes with 30 different suppliers. We can now work smarter, save money and allow our business to become more flexible, productive and engaged.”
Excalibur has already synchronized landline and mobile calls for First City with a new cloud-based platform, whilst its team of IT specialists will work to specific Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to handle the varying levels of urgency accordingly. Requests are fed into a transparent case management system so that all parties remain informed.
A disaster recovery plan is also now in place with 24/7 system monitoring, more mobile devices, secure connections, encrypted data and end-user education from a team of Excalibur experts.
“With our guidance”, said Emma Carter from Excalibur, “First City is able to choose the right solutions and gradually roll them out, providing an increasingly unified experience for staff and customers that paves the way for growth. No matter what, their business is now always on.”
