Excalibur Communications has announced its annual results for 2019/20.

The Swindon-based communications and IT solutions provider has revealed an increase of Group turnover to £9.3 million, up one per cent compared to last year, despite the challenges presented by the Coronavirus pandemic. Underlying profit (EBITDA) remains the same as last year at £1.6 million.

Year end 2019 to 2020 saw Excalibur’s IT and Fixed Line business revenues grow by 10 per cent, rising from £4 million to £4.4 million.  This has resulted from a continued focus on increasing its IT and Fixed Line customer base and extending the product range.

The mobile side of the business saw revenues decrease by four per cent, largely due to the reduction in international travel by customers during the pandemic.

Peter Boucher, Excalibur CEO, said, “We’re encouraged by this solid set of results at what has been a particularly unusual time for the UK economy. Whilst Coronavirus has caused enormous disruption, we have fantastic employees who have shown great resilience and adaptability in continuing to deliver an outstanding service to customers.   This has been recognised in the awards we have received for service, staff engagement and wellbeing.  Our strategic investment in a new IT system and a move to new offices puts us in a strong position to achieve continued growth over the medium and longer term as the UK economy recovers.”

On top of financial performance for 2019 to 2020, Excalibur has invested in a new core IT system that will bring greater efficiencies to day-to-day operations and has moved to new offices in Swindon that better meet the needs of the business and employees. In October, the final stage of the management buyout, which initially took place in April 2018, was completed.

The company’s business, service and investment in people achievements have also been recognised with a number of awards including;  Top 100 Sunday Times Best Small Company to Work For 2020, Vodafone Regional Partner of the Year 2020, FSB South West Wellness Award 2020 and the Go Tech 2019 Award for IT and Telecoms Support.
