The event named ‘Inspire, Enterprise, Grow’ began at 07:30am with a networking breakfast combined with guest speaker Claire Perry MP. Claire is government minister and local MP and discussed both national and local plans to help businesses grow in the UK in 2016 and beyond.

After the breakfast attendees had the opportunity to network and talk to some of the exhibitors that were on display throughout the day. Purpol Marketing, Wansbroughs, Front Room Design and South West Business Finance were just some of the events exhibitors.

Delegates also had the chance to attend a range of seminars including An X Agency discussing creating an effective marketing strategy for your business, Kameleon Solutions presenting on leading for growth and South West Business Finance talking about alternative routes to finance.

The day reached its peak with international model and business woman Caprice Bourret delivering a keynote speech over lunch.

Caprice became a household name around the world through her modelling  career and media appearances. She started her own company called By Caprice in 2006 and her collection, designed and modelled by Caprice was an instant success. Caprice is currently busy expanding her business internationally which includes lingerie, swimwear and home, steering her global brand according to the latest trends.

Caprice spoke with honesty and delivered a warts and all tale of her rise to business success. Discussing everything from the pressures of womanhood, biological clocks and her struggle to have kids.  She also spoke of when everything did fall into place for her, the struggle to be a successful mum, wife and businesswoman.

Caprice said she believes her business success lies in her dedication to delivering excellent customer service. “I really look after my customers. I don’t get greedy with my numbers, I take a hit on my margin and build longevity and repeat business.”

Caprice also discussed the power of social media in growing her business. She said: “I shift the most units through Twitter. And guess what? It’s free!”
