A new initiative – Champions of Small Business – will be launched next week to provide free information, resources and support to businesses across the UK.

The brainchild of entrepreneur Warren Cass, the initiative is designed to support small businesses at the heart of the UK’s economy.

Champions of Small Business will be launched at the Business Show in  Olympia in London on Thursday December 3.

Warren Cass, founder of membership organisation Business Scene, said: “Champions of Small Business is designed to engage the small business sector which is largely unsupported by government.

“This initiative will allow small business owners to access knowledge, expertise and resources for nothing.

“Small business often gets overlooked and forgotten and what little support was on offer has been largely withdrawn.

“The irony is small business drives our economy employing nearly 26 million people and we want to do something positive for these businesses and the entrepreneurs who drive them forwards.”

There will be 50 leading business voices – or ‘thought leaders’ – who will be at the centre of the initiative (to be announced at a later date) along with support from brands including Volvo Cars UK, FreeAgent, Mercer & Web.com.

Initially, those who will have access to downloads, ebooks, an online business magazine and events. There is also a business prize draw worth £5,000 which is open to those who register before January 15 next year.

During 2016, a web tv channel will be launched as well as webinars, seminars and networking opportunities.
