Engage, Evolve, Go! Full line-up announced

Local SMEs are getting set to ignite conversation and inspire growth for their contemporaries at The Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s virtual conference, Engage, Evolve, Go!

The Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) are putting our area’s business leaders centre stage and giving them the spotlight to host workshops designed to support local organisations wherever they are on their business journey, as part of the conference which takes place from 8:30am-5pm on Thursday 7th October.

Attendees will be inspired to Engage, Evolve Go! by award-winning guest speakers Dr Nicola Millard, Principal Innovation Partner at BT and Jim Lawless, best-selling author of Taming Tigers: Do Things You Never Thought You Could.

Paddy Bradley, SWLEP Chief Executive Officer, said, “The SWLEP champions local SMEs and facilitates projects that help accelerate economic growth and job creation in the area. This year’s conference, Engage, Evolve, Go! will empower and support organisations across our region and is more accessible than ever as it is being held online.”

08:30-09:15 Networking 

09:15-09:30 Conference welcome with Alison North, SWLEP Co-Deputy Chair of the Board and SME Representative. 

09:30-10:15 – Dr Nicola MillardPrincipal Innovation Partner at BT will launch the conference with a keynote looking at innovation in both employee and customer experience, considering future strategy to reflect how the world of business and work is evolving. 

10:15-10:45 Local SME workshop sessions – Attendees can choose the best session for them including:

  • The Growth Mindset with Andrew Jackson, Enterprise Acceleration Manager at NatWest – If you’re ready to go for business growth, attend this session to focus your mind on achieving your goals.
  • Money, Money, Money with Oli Thomas and Hayley Chamberlain, Purple Lime – Need to get on top of your business finances? Attend this session for tips and tools to manage your cashflow and feel more in control of your bottom line.
  • Achieving results with paid social media campaigns – Alex Pollock, Social, Digital & Paid Media Strategist at Soc Med Sup, will discuss the basics of paid-for social media campaigns, the right network for you and how to target your ideal customers. 
  • Simple Cyber – Mark Moore, Superintendent, South West Cyber Resilience Centre and Ross Brown, Head of Cyber and Innovation at South West Cyber Resilience Centre (SWCRC) will discuss the basics to help protect your company from cyber-attack and share the free support available via the SWCRC.
  • How to attract the perfect customer – Daniel Plowright, Enquir3 will look at the power of customer relations and how you can retain and grow the right client base through focused thinking and sales and marketing activity. 
  • Going Green: Andrew Perolls from Greengage Solutions will give you some key takeaways on how to make a positive environmental impact and ways to reduce the carbon emissions within your organisation.
  • Hear why The Black Farmer, Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones says Wiltshire is underrated and is great. Wilfred will be talking to Phil Clement, Head of Investment and Export at SWLEP.

10:45-11:00 Coffee Break and Networking

11:00 – 11:45 SME Roundtable discussion with Paddy Bradley, SWLEP Chief Executive Officer and guests, Surinder Hothi-Bellamy, Pure Punjabi, Jimmy Braimah, Good Talent, Tessa Johnstone, Johnstone Landscapes and Martyn Coles, Coles Scaffolding.

11:45-12:15 Local SME workshop sessions – Attendees can choose the best session for them including:

  • SMEs, inflation and future business finance planning with Financial Advisor,  Daniel Edmund, City Financial Planning.
  • Design Thinking: Unlocking Innovation – Scott Gulliver, Founder, Fluff Digital is to look at how you can unlock innovation in your business by using the latest technologies to drive staff productivity and user engagement. 
  • Intrapreneurship – Nationwide’s Shane Moore will look at how to inspire intrapreneurship in your organisation. 
  • Hear all about Swindon and Wiltshire’s new Business Cyber Centre launching Spring 2022 with Business Development Manager, Tom Marshall.
  • Life After Brexit – Andrea Collins, The Export Department will provide top tips to support local businesses which export goods.

12:15- 12:30 Coffee Break and networking

12:30-13:15 Globally renowned speaker, Jim Lawless, and best-selling author of Taming Tigers: Do Things You Never Thought You Could will inspire and empower you to take the leap to Engage, Evolve, Go.

13:15 Paul Moorby, SWLEP Chair to open the expo stands and give a brief update on SWLEP activities.  

13:30 Lunch and networking
