Energy-saving firm celebrates fifth birthday

Corsham-based SMARTech energy is celebrating five years of helping businesses reduce their energy consumption.

The award-winning company has gone from strength to strength since its launch in 2014, in no small measure thanks to the growing demand for energy-efficient technologies.

Founding director Stuart Pearce set up the firm with the aim of creating a business which would help companies reduce their energy usage. Since then, SMARTech has firmly established itself as a major player in the sector, typically reducing a commercial organisation’s energy consumption by 30%-50%. Among its clients SMARTech counts Wiltshire Council, Herman Miller, Octavian Wines and Framptons.

Stuart said: “When we developed the business plan, we really felt that energy management and consultancy was paramount to an organisation’s sustainability and over the past five years, we have seen a huge change in the approach towards sustainable energy management.

“Rising energy costs, together with legislative regulations and a company’s environmental responsibilities are the drivers behind most energy management projects. It’s the offer of a financial return from the savings gained from the installation of energy efficient solutions which is enabling businesses to easily integrate energy efficiency projects into their business process.”

In response to customers’ evolving expectations, SMARTech has recently expanded its services to include energy consultancy, electrical services, heating and cooling solutions and power management.

Stuart said: “We have ambitious growth plans over the next year and as a supplier and installer of more than 30 low-carbon technologies, the additional service platforms showcase our in-depth knowledge and technical capabilities within the sector.”
