Olympic ski-jumper Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards has been confirmed as the guest speaker at an upcoming business networking event.
Organised and sponsored by Professional Connections of Wiltshire (PCW), the event takes place at the Marsh Farm Hotel, Royal Wootton Bassett, on Wednesday 2nd February.
Eddie Edwards was the first Briton to compete in Olympic ski jumping. Born in Gloucestershire, Eddie first represented Great Britain at the 1987 World Championships and ranked 55th in the world.
He rapidly caught the attention of the British public during the 1988 Olympic Games which saw him set a new UK ski-jump record of 73.5 metres.
In 2016, Eddie’s story was documented in a film starring Taron Egerton in the titular role, alongside Hugh Jackman.
Eddie will be the guest speaker at the PCW event and will take questions from attendees.
Chris Pugh, Founder of PCW, said, “Post lockdown and following these turbulent few years in business, we now felt it was the right time to invest in an open event by our not-for-profit business referral group. Any business owner is welcome to attend for some networking and to listen to an amazing speaker who can share a story we all ‘think’ we know!”
PCW is a business networking group which meets fortnightly at the Marsh Farm Hotel on Friday mornings from 9am.
