Royds Withy King has announced its annual promotions with two of its solicitors being made up to partner in its Swindon office.
Samantha O’Sullivan, who is a private client lawyer and heads the firm’s Charities & Not-For-Profit sector group, and Greg Callard, a real estate specialist, have been promoted to partner.
Samantha joined Royds Withy King in 2013. She advises individuals on a wide range of issues, including pre and post death estate and tax planning for individuals and families, use of trusts and tax-efficient Wills, inheritance tax and capital gains tax.
Samantha also advises local and national charities on all aspects on setting up and running a charity including restructuring, creation and winding up of trusts, advice to trustees and beneficiaries and dealings with the Charity Commission. She is trustee of AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) which provides support to families of abuse victims, the Collins Educational Trust which makes grants to support children under the age of 18 to achieve academic excellence and the Eva Crane Trust, which provides grant funding for apicultural research to individuals and organisations nationally and internationally.
Greg Callard advises SMEs and owner-managed businesses, commercial landlords and tenants on commercial property issues. Greg’s work ranges from acting for retail businesses acquiring space in shopping centres across the UK to advising expanding local businesses on their property needs. As part of the firm’s Charities & Not-for-Profit sector team, Greg also advises charities on dealing with the legal aspects of managing property portfolios, including property transactions regulations, charity to charity property transfers, freehold disposal and acquisition and leasehold work.
